FRANK GILBOY Latham- Frank Gilboy, 53 of Latham, beloved husband of Kathy Waltersdorf Gilboy, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at his home with his cherished family at his side. Born and educated in Troy, he was the son of the late Edward and Madeline (Clemente) Gilboy. He married the love of his life Kathy Waltersdorf Gilboy May 5, 1984 and the two have shared a beautiful marriage of over 30 years. Frank was a graduate of Troy High School and Hudson Valley Community College in Troy. He was a Field Engineer with Castrol Heavy Duty Lubricants for 15 years. Frank was a member of the Society of Tribologist and Lubricating Engineers. He was a member of the International Council for Machinery Lubrication. Frank was a Certified Lubrication Specialist, one of the hardest certifications to acquire in his industry. He was a certified Oil Monitoring Analyst, Machine Lubrication Technician, Caterpillar Applied Failure Analysis. Frank was also certified in the standards of the Mine Safety & Health Administration, Mack diesel engine training and Allison transmission training. Frank grew up in South Troy with his beloved family and moved to Latham in 1986. He loved the time he spent at Leathams' camp in Cossayuna with his family and friends. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing, hunting and all of nature. Frank enjoyed a good cigar and bluegrass at "Club Gilboy" his backyard retreat with his friends and family. Sunday dinner was a special time with his family where one of Frank's favorite sayings "Groceries are your friend" was used often. He enjoyed tinkering with cars, motorcycles, snowmobiles and anything mechanical. He loved the beach and ocean especially his time spent on "his little slice of heaven" in St. George Island. Frank had a special ability to keep complex circumstances simple and was able to face his final challenge with dignity and grace. All who knew Frank always felt welcomed and loved whether it was one week or 20 years since you last saw him, he put you at comfort and ease. Survivors in addition to his wife include his loving children John F. Gilboy of Mechanicville, Kara J. (Nick) Morris of Latham and Casey E. Gilboy of Latham, his cherished grandchildren Andrew, Micah and Madeline Gilboy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday November 1, 2014 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, 310 Spring Ave, Troy Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home 149 Old Loudon Rd. Latham on Friday from 3:00 p.m. til 7:00 p.m. Family and friends wishing to do so may make contributions to the Gilboy Grandchildren Trust Fund c/o the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home 149 Old Loudon Rd.
